TARDY POLICY ADDENDUM – The following has been added to our tardy policy stated in our Handbook for Parents & Students: Students in grades 6-8 who have been tardy 12 times during the quarter will be required to serve a morning detention following the 12th tardy and every tardy thereafter within a quarter. Students will be charged the before care fee for this detention. This detention is from 7:30-8:15 AM, in the gym.
OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS – On Jan 12th we are having an “Open House” for prospective students between 9:30-11:30 am & 4:30-6:30 pm. Please share this information with a friend.
APPLICATIONS FOR NEW STUDENTS – We will begin accepting applications for new students on Jan. 12th. If you know of someone who would like to receive an application, please call the school office at 737-9554.
RE-ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS – Friday, Jan. 15th is the deadline to return the enrollment application for next school year and pay the $125.00 per student application fee; after the 15th this fee increases to $175.00 per student!
SCHOOL CALENDAR – Everyone should have a copy of the school calendar located in the back of the Handbook for Parents and Students. Important dates are listed on this calendar, you will be advised of any changes.
UNIFORMS – Periodically we will be conducting uniform checks. If a student has an improper uniform a Uniform Check form will be sent home.
LABEL-LABEL-LABEL – Please be sure to label your child’s uniform with his/her name – that is the school uniform as well as the P.E. uniform. With students changing for P.E. and moving about things get misplaced! Lunch kits and school bags should also have your child’s name clearly marked!
LEAP - If your child will be entering the public school system in the fall of 2010 he/she will be required to take the 4th or 8th grade LEAP test. Contact the District Test Coordinator in the local school system immediately, to register your child for the Spring 2010 testing. For Jefferson Parish call(504)-349-8630.
CAPRI SUN POUCH DRINKS/MY COKE REWARDS – We are now collecting empty Capri Sun pouches. We will receive 2 cents per empty pouch. Continue to send in My Coke Reward Code numbers. Thank You!
LABELS, BOX TOPS & INK CARTRIDGES/CELL PHONES – We are still collecting Campbell’s labels, Big G Box Tops, empty computer ink cartridges & old cell phones; and we are looking for volunteers to organize these items. If you can help, please contact the school office. We will send some home for you to work on at your convenience. THANK YOU!
HOT LUNCH PROGRAM – We are looking for a volunteer on Monday’s to help with our hot lunch program. The hours are 11AM-1PM. Please call the school office if you are able to help us. Thanks!
